if you dont feel like reading a lot, you're in luck. if you do want to read, you'll have to wait a little bit.
so, a few weeks ago, i went to a basset hound rescue with stacy. i got to do the same thing as last year (minus my first car accident), with measuring the length of the dogs' ears. it might sound cute, but it was disgusting, since their ears are LONG and they drag in everything. so these slimy-eared dogs came from the "bobbing for hot dogs" station right next to us, so i got to plop these greasy ears onto a piece of paper and mark how long they were while their proud owners beamed at their progeny and announced in loud voices "it's ONLY 10 inches?? we can't let pretty boy floyd beat you, can we buster? stretch that ear out a little more." that's one of my pet peeves: owners who treat their pets like a little kid. the guy i worked with was interesting, his kid (not dog) is going to be on the next bachelor show, but that's for another time, since i promised not a lot of talk. so without further ado...
this lady took it one step further and believed her dog had higher powers. it's a psychic dog.
one good thing about this basset hound rescue was that collin firth and brad pitt, among other celebrities, decided to show up. if you think brad pitt looks different, it's because he was trying to keep a low profile...that's why they are both hiding amongst the dogs.
we also saw a puritan on the way home. there are other pictures but i dont feel like scanning them in.
this is my sister with my dog though. she's not a basset hound. not a good picture of agi, but i think my dog looks funny.
last week we went on a field trip to the arboretum. i dont know why everyone (mostly the juniors) thought it was boring, i thought it was a lot of fun. my sister said we used to go there as kids with my dad, but i dont remember at all.
pretty lake
they were filming the second meet the parents there. see, other people knew about the arboretum too.
we even ran into some danger there with some quicksand
we saw a wee little man in the rainforest
that's jenae's new house, in a huuuuge tree-like bush
there were a lot of pretty purple trees
there was even some rare and precious art around the park
pretending to be a plant
around the arboretum there were many wild animals, like this monkey. at this point during our safari, we got really relaly relaly hungry and happened upon these orange trees. we started shaking the trees, throwing rocks at the oranges, hitting them with sticks, and performing all sorts of vandalism to try to get at some food. we finally had hte brilliant idea of picking up heidi to get the fruit, and by this time we were laughing so hard (or i was) that i was about to pee my pants and could only hold her foot all hunched over and shaking with laughter. Several elementary school field trippers walked past us and were looking at us really funny and saying "what are the dooooooooing?" because we were something to see. the effort was well worth it, especially since by the time we got the fruit, it was lunch time.
