In only a few days, im going to go to the dentist. ha, i bet you thought i was going to say that i was going to go to chicago. I'm still in denial.
Speaking of going, last week i went to Davis to see oscar's soon-to-be-home and stacy's future school. Stacy, Jenae, and I drove up to davis on tuesday, went to sacramento on wednesday, san francisco on thursday, and went back home on friday. During that time, we did such wild and crazy things as:
- play on playgrounds
- watch the 6th worst movie ever made (laws of attraction)
- have a midnight picnic of pie on the davis campus
- get seriously lost in san francisco
- listen close to every NOW cd while driving
We also visited
rory (LOOK! IT'S A LINK! that's the first time im using one like this, so you should click on it to see if it works and also to see the many wonders awaiting you on the web) and saw his absolutely immaculate apartment. there are 5 guys living there, and it's as if there are 10 mothers cleaning up after them. The rules in the kitchen actually include something like "no drink, no drugs, no smoking" and other really moral aspirations. i'll put up some really blue pictures later. blue, meaning somehow walmart wanted to add more than usual blue coloring in the pictures, or i dont know what they use. spray paint?
So since i've come home, i've not done much. we celebrated shikha's birthday late and kind of in two parts, i tore apart a room looking for a cd, i put the room back together again, i watched a cheesy movie, i watched a bad movie, i watched a good movie, and i've done other things i'd rather not talk about.
So everyone says that when people go away to college, they change. They dont mention, however, how the people staying at home change. Today i witnessed my mom picking out glasses (that took a solid 2 hours with the boundless help of teagle & company) AND getting her makeup done. whoever knows my mom well knows that this is like me deciding to wear a mini skirt while loudly talking about...oh, i dont know, what dont i talk about?...sex, periods, and the like. ok, it was mostly the glasses-getting part that surprised me.
And while taking my dog on a walk, last night i saw a fight almost start, and after deciding to go a little earlier, i saw a sheriff stop at a house and get shot by the owner. ok, that's just my sleepiness talking, the shooting did not happen, but the sheriff did go pay a visit at someone's house, just my dog would not let me linger long enough to hear what they might be talking about.
I also talked, well, got in touch with one of my roommates, Julie. In addition to some other pretty surprising facts about her, i found that she also got off the waitlist, and before that she was going to go to cornell. what? cornell? If someone can give me 10 good reasons why i am going to this school, i will give you my bank account number.
i've noticed that i've had livejournal for more than a year. someone told me that i might be cool enough to get some friends later on if i switch to a blog. how about it? it's good to grow, it might be time to move on.
Finally, i've discovered that i'm actually liking this non-hydrogenated oil peanut butter more than mr. jiff or ms. skippy. I have a feeling im going to make some enemies becuase of my new-found love.
