Holy shit, a post!
Heya.
Long time no type.
The past, er, time period has been very busy for me, what with school and my undergraduate research cum PhD job and all that... So here are some updates:
The good:
---------
- Alex got me a new office chair for Christmas! It's super comfy and 10000 times better than the old one.
- I was finally able to purchase a compiter monitor that I can look at for several hours without my eyes telling my brain that it should jump ship through them. I can finally go back to using my desktop computer for games and stuff!
- Christmas in general was awesome. A lot of wedding stuff got finalized (cupcakes! hair! makeup! flowers!), and I got a boatload of new scarves.
- I got to try on my wedding gown and go over the alterations that need to be done. The seamstress person will add my sash color bits for me, and it will look absolutely awesome!
- I'm doing ok in school. The past two weeks were hell on wheels because of my MQP and my Robotics class (both of which demanded 20 hours of my time per week, for a total of 40... before any other classes or bodily necessities got to demand any time), but they've now both calmed down significantly.
- I will graduate in 4 years! With both of my majors and my minor (if I can just finish that damn paper)!
The bad:
--------
- The biggest bad right now is the fact that through the whirlwind of all the wedding stuff and school and job and everything I didn't have anywhere near as much time as I needed in order to finalize my permanent residency forms and send them in... and now we're stuck because of the "affidavit of support" bullshit and Alex's dad who is trying to figure out a way around it and to find a lawyer that could help... It is going to be very unlikely that I will be able to return to the US after the Israeli wedding, because the US government doesn't approve these things overnight (the wait period is ~4-6 months, and the Israeli wedding is in May and the forms aren't done yet because of the support thing)... So, yeah... I've been getting depressed about it periodically and feeling very frustrated and helpless. I'm hoping that the lawyer thing comes through and that he'll know how to expedite this.
- I really need to finish that minor paper... but I may not have time. I'm going to try anyway... somehow.
- Jesus christ on a pogo stick, Robotics and MQP are competing with each other as to who gets to eat the most of my soul/sanity/time/existence.
So things are kind of polar right now. There's a lot of good, but there's one giant bad...
