I'm thinking of publishing an online magazine that focuses on Urban Science Fiction & Fantasy. The plan is to use InDesign then put it up on Magcloud. Contributors get royalties, although a headline writer might get an up-front fee if I can get enough advance interest.
Print copies will be a luxury, probably made available through crowd funding.
Basic premise: to cover all things urban and mythic. Each issue will focus on a theme or a city, with 3 stories (a headliner, a first timer and a serial) and a stand-alone comic strip (possibly a fumetti) supported by essays and articles exploring the tropes and source material for the genre.
First up I need a title. Got a number already, some being better than others. They are:
Chiaroscuro; City Noir; Dark City; Dark City Scene; Dying Light; Ekistica; Lich Gate; Metropunk; Metro Noir; Metrozone; Urban Shadows; Urbanesque; Urbesque; Zeitgeist.
If anybody has other suggestions I'll happily throw them into the mix.
Also interested in article pitches/suggestions.
