i went to hangout with chris for the first time outside of any work related encounter 2nite. it went well. he's a really nice guy, so is his girlfriend. they have a really nice apartment in the barrio heights area just a few blocks from the 610 house off walton. the music that was presented to me is in an inbetween stage. he says he has about 14 songs, but only about 7 would be ones that he feels would be good for a band type arrangement. the couple of songs that we went over were good. its alot more laid back than the quietist, but its still good and alot better than the 40 second snipet that he emailed to me. its very colorful - he uses alot of 7th, 9th, and 11th chords which is a really nice difference in comparison to past projects or music that ive personally done at all. there was some of that in the quietist but not too much. leaves it very open. we talked about influences, what we would like to do and have happen. im used to dealing with parameters as far as music that has already been written for the most part, but he says that nothing really is final except for one song and the rest is mostly written but he wants my creative input to finish them up. im really glad. i was a bit fearing that it would be more straight forward like here is the song, this is what i want you to play. i wouldn't be down for that. i can do that in certain areas, respecting someones vision is something i would expect and want to do so i think it will be a good balance. he wants to practice alot though - like 3 - 4 times a week. i hope i can do that. he's a literary major with a degree and leans more towards the philosophy side of literature. the current drummer which were not sure if he is going to last is applying for a film opening at columbia university and its understood if he gets it, hes gone. its undetermined as to what will happen with that, but i did mention that even if that is the case, i have some very talented and more than capable friends that might want in on this. we're supposed to get together tuesday and the studio that he is currently working at with other artists are going to pay for the rented room at the rhythm room. ive never been there but i heard good things about it. being that we were in his upstairs apartment, we couldn't be too loud and i think good jam out sessions are the best way to learn more about the music direction people gravitate towards. we'll be able to do that there.

so tomorrow i go for my second go at the cheesecake factory. i wasn't really sure if i wanted to work there or not being what happened previously, but atleast this way, i can go through the training already being familiar with the menu and the people i would be working with - i just hope that fucking test isnt the death of me this go. that would royally suck. being that if the cheesecake factory works out, my availability would more match his and the 3-4 practices would be more likely to happen that way. AND i can still work nites at the hut and go to training during the day until i hopefully finish and complete training and still be ok financially and if i fail this time, i wont be without a job scratching my head or my butt. oust the itchy asshole!

im going tomorrow to lee college to talk to this guy my sister is dating who is a guidance councelor and talk to him about direction on classes of interest. im not real sure at all on what path to take. i know i love sales, i always have and am good at it - technically you dont really need school for sales - you either have it or you dont and i do so its kinda weird in a way to consider going to school at all, but my sister was suggesting business management as a possibility. i dunno - there is some website im supposed to get on and take some aptitude tests and that based on your scores, suggests paths on which to pursue career wise.
