Back from NY. Damn, overall that trip was worth it in so many ways...but the drive there and back, we were asking ourselves, "What the FUCK were we THINKING?!"
Found two absolutely gorgeous Faire girls, hit on them a bit...Tabitha Weaver, the Sheriff's daughter; redhead, but it worked for her. Curvy, giggly, and easy to impress (though maybe that was due in part to the character she played). And Stephanie, the girl who ran the pike throw; short, lithe, and a chest that looked amazing in a corset. I must've played that game ten times, on top of giving her a $5 tip...^_^ And I apparently impressed her with my "shaft control," hitting 4 targets in a row. I might've lost against Phil in everything else, but damnit, I impressed the ladies with that one.
Best quotes from Faire:
Tabitha Weaver - Wouldst thou have any kind words for me dear lords?
Ryan - *Recites Sonnet of the Roses and bows*
Tabitha - Absolutely lovely M'lord! I'm quite flattered! And you, Lord Phil, have you anything to say?
Phil - *Punches Ryan in the Chest* Ass.
Tabitha - Oooh... a man of strength I see...
Stephanie: Four in a row! Can any man best this one, or is nobody else as capable of controlling their shaft with such skill?!
So I hit on girls I'll never see again, at least until next year...so sue me. :P
Worked on my maille a bit...Phil gave me a grand idea of buying some stainless rings of the same size and gauge as my galvy, and making a bag. Now there's a thought...durable, won't rust, and can carry anything I put in it.
I'm turning my vest ideas into a "masterpiece shirt," and I won't have nearly enough rings to complete it at this time. So I'm adding rows and columns to that until I get some clasps to form bracelets...so the micro-steel rings are now available as an option for material choice.
Let's just hope I can remember to send Dean my rough draft for the site...
Maryland Faire's right around the corner...I purchased a pair of suitable pants at Sterling, and Phil's looking into soaking my bracers so they're softer and more pliable...my garb is almost done.
Discussed hours with one of my managers. Apparently I can't get EVERY weekend off, but eh, they're shifting me to more weekday shifts, so that's always pleasant to hear. Maybe now I can maintain something resembling normalcy involving a work schedule and Ren-Faire on the weekends....
