Although it's technically the 14th right now, this still counts for my 13th entry, as that's what I was going for.  While I am still a bit behind, I have made leaps and bounds in my efforts towards finishing, and when today's (yesterday's) word count for the day was 21,667 words, I made it all the way to 17,600, leaving me only 4,067 words behind ( Read more... )

Writing has been accomplished! :D

...Still way behind, though. 

It is now day 7 of NaNoWriMo (as indicated by my title--just wanted to make sure any vagueness was cleared up), and I am ginourmously behind.  4,602 words behind, to be precise.  Gah.  I didn't quite make the count on Friday and I didn't write at all yesterday, planning to use today to catch up.  Needless to say, no writing was accomplished.

I have found the secret to making my word count each day!  Overly exaggerated descriptions! Of course, I'm notoriously bad in the description department, so what is overly exaggerated to me could simply be normal to one such as you, but it really bulks up my writing, relying more on the scenery and action than the dialogue (although long monologue' ( Read more... )

So I've realized that my problem with writing isn't that I have no ideas, no.  It's that I'm so easily distracted.  Take now, for instance.  I could be sitting here at my computer writing the 1,510 words that I have to go in order to meet my daily goal (or the 3,092 words I have to completely catch up for missing Monday), but what am I doing?  I'm ( Read more... )

 So I've decided to participate in NaNoWriMo this year for the very first time.  I've been pretty excited, looking forward to it all and everything.  And then today comes, I go to write--nothing.  So frustrating.  Gah.
