Science, Schmience
What in the hell is going on with this country? Never before have I seen so many people denounce science in this country, in favor of irrational fears. They say our long scientific backing of evolution, which has been changed and added and researched and tested excessively, is nonsense and are putting ideas like Creationism and ID, which are at most 10 years old and having no valid research or evidence, as equally valid and saying they should be engraved into all young minds of varying ethics and beliefs. The first time ever, the FDA disapproved of a medicine because of politics, religion, and fear instead of scientific evidence. People are so afraid of minor diseases such as bird flu and sars, instead of more deadly diseases such as HIV and Cancer. Politicians are getting away with murder, lies, and thievery while human, and American, rights are being denied (OK, so this one isn't so new...).
Logic and reason is on the fritz. Instead, people are being motivated by fear and prejudice. Everyday people are too afraid to help out their friends, neighbors, and fellow humans. Instead, they find new excuses to justify their laziness. They no longer have the moralities this country (and their own religions!) established centuries ago. Instead, choosing to let their fear of freedom and truth get in the way. Choosing newer morals that are exclusive to them, instead of the ones that are inclusive to all. America is lost, amoral, and outright selfish. The people who claim to be doing the greater right, is performing the greater wrong.
But whatever, who cares. Let's go find our serene place to watch the world end, atop a beautiful hill or a secluded island, while everyone devours themselves until nothing is left... What a beautiful sight that will be.
