Day 128 January 19, 2007 Friday
Its-almost-FINISHED!!!
Japanese Final was just like a normal test, sure there were a few things I were shaky on and forgot because of the break but nothing disastrous. Today was my Art final, which went pretty well I think. This is the only thing in class we are getting graded on (little scary!) but I attended every class. We had to do some definitions and then the harder (impossible) part-slide identification. Haha, during the semester every week on Friday we look at slides for 3 hours and the teacher talks about them. Now from the 12 pages with slide names on it, we looked at and had to identify only 10 pieces. So ya, impossible to study for and most of the slides were of statues (all Buddha’s look the same!) but ya, no hard feelings. Finally was politics class that was going to end almost 30 minutes early, and Suganuma was about to leave when… I reminded him that I still had to do my presentation. He has forgotten about our presentations for the last 3 weeks, so I did do mine quickly and painlessly. We took our farewell pictures (yay!) and departed. Finals are OVER!!!! I feel so much freedom now, I can spend all the time I want studying Japanese (it never ends!), relaxing, exercising, traveling, napping etc.
*Ryohei called me during art saying that he had finished all his obligations and if I felt up to it, could come to Chiba. So ya, he was ronely! So ronely! ( Sebastian said “aka. Horny”) So I went back to the Kusabas, had dinner (when I told Yasuko that “Ryohei wa sabishii” she laughed and when Ryohei heard of this he was mortified yelling at me “Sabishii makes me sound so weak and pitiful! I can no longer face the Kusabas!” boo hoo) and then rode to Tokyo (getting lost! I got confused stupid me.) and then to Chiba.
Day 129 January 20, 2007 Saturday
This morning we played badminton (the new rage at the Nittas), and then hopped in the car to go Ichigo Gari- Strawberry Picking! We went to this little farm area and they had a bunch of green houses that we could go into and pick and eat all the strawberries we wanted to! We had a little container for stems and also this sweet milk dipping sauce. They had different kinds of strawberries and we filled our tummies walking around there. I now want to go peach picking with Katie since I have never gone before…
For lunch we ate at a conveyer belt sushi place and I saw snow!!! One melted flake on Ryohei’s head and that was it. Apparently it snowed more in Hashimoto and Machida.
