The script format works really well, as P&R folks have frequent Fourth Wall moments when they talk directly to the camera.

Ron and his beloved "Meat Delivery System," Leslie's fastidousness, April's conpsiring with Ron and Andy's interpretaion of "Whole Foods" are so in character.

This made my Sunday. Thank you.

I'm so glad that you liked it and felt that the characters were ...themselves.

You're very welcome. It was neat to try this.

And I forgot your wonderful Tom and Donna. I'm sorta kinda shipping those two.

Tom and Donna?!! I love them as friends!

Do you see them as potentially more?

They share similar levels of hedonism and obviously enjoy spending time together. So IDK.

"Treat yo'self."

I don't understand the rules about relationships. Leslie and Ben's relationship is taboo, yet April and Andy are married and it's no problem. What am I missing? Is it a matter of supervisor/subordinate?

Well I think that in essence, yes, it's exactly that. But probably you're just not supposed to invest that much thought into it? Likely the fact that they can't date was added in so that the writers could give them some external conflict to build up the romance and later have this big moment in which Ben resigns for her.

Also, April is an office assistant and Andy is the shoe-shine boy, so I hardly think their relationship is high up enough in municipal govt. to warrant scrutiny. They're not responsible for ...anything related to tax money.

In any case, I think what I'm saying is that..it's not meant to make a world of sense. I think that they hope that if there are inconsistencies, such as the one you pointed out, you'll just be like...eh it's not a serious show.

Yet P & R does have an admirable sense of continuity and internal logic. For a sitcom.

Yes, maybe they rule just applies to more senior people.

I was going to say it only applies to supervisor/subordinate relationships in order to make sense of it, because that WOULD make sense, but I think I recall an episode in which Chris condemns ALL inter-office relationships, so I don't know what to tell you!

Alas, I think we have already invested way too much thought on this. But you go, girl for pointing out that inconsistency! Superior intellect most definitely!
