Could I ask a question of the experienced writers out there? Someone just complained that my 'love parts are similar.' I'm not sure if she meant the physical descriptions or the emotional dynamic

Oh, thank you, Kathleen! My first two stories were written almost at the same time and I used the same words without thinking. When I realized what I was doing and that I'd be writing more stories, I did get more comfortable with the scenes and started trying to vary them.
You're right. "Thinking" of your own responses does influence the description. That's why I was so worried - because I can't change the way I think or feel, and I can only write Spike and Buffy satisfactorily for myself through their visceral internal reactions, which are of course my own. I can't do "camera angle" third-party, staying outside their heads. That becomes "watching" rather that "feeling" or "being" and that's not enough for me. So I didn't know how to change it and completely lost confidence, especially when this was the second time this person had mentioned "freshening up my work".
I'm so glad you think the stories good enough to keep and that you're not bored with them! It's given me the confidence to disregard her opinion and go on writing Spuffy. Thank you! Jo
