I've got a couple of things on my mind.
Ok, Hamas. So the little-terrorist-party-that-could won the Palestinian elections last week. Now the big question is how will we respond, how will Israel respond, how will Iran respond, and most importantly how will Hamas respond.
The thing is if the Palestinians want peace, then the act of electing a party whose platform is "Death to Israel," isn't such a good idea. The Bush administration has already decreed that unless real change takes place in the anti-Israeli polices of Hamas then aid money from America will be cut off. So whom are the Palestinians going to turn to for aid? Perhaps a country with views more like theirs. Possibly, a country like Iran. This doesn't look good for the peace process.
My view, the Palestinians have to sleep in the bed they have made. Israel and the U.S. must work for the peace process to work before giving up and allowing the situation to fully deteriorate and even grow worse. Some of Hamas's demands will need to be met. New border negotiations are what they are asking for. However, if Hamas strikes out at Israel, the Palestinians must understand this is their government and that is not terrorism anymore. That is an act of war. Israel will most definitely see it that way.
Good luck and Goodnight.
Oh Yeah!!! Pat Robertson. So, Heather and I are flipping through the channels and saw that it is the 700 Clubs big fundraiser. During the few seconds we had it on Robertson boasts about how he has sent up to 22 million dollars of relief to the Gulf Coast after Hurricane Katrina. I found that funny. All that money must be going to Mississippi because I can't see that his holiness would send any to Louisiana.
After all, Robertson told the people of New Orleans not to look to God because they are unholy people in an unholy city and it was God that destroyed the city with the hurricane. So, I called up the hot-line and told them just that. They can keep their damn money. I'm sure all the sinners coming for Mardi Gras will spend enough to help the rebuilding and economy of our city. I'd rather that money come from hard working out of state people looking to have a good time than from a holier than thou hypocrite.
