Sometimes words fail me

Nov 02, 2011 22:55

I've finally gotten around to reading the comments to the final chapter of NLB.

What do you reply to someone who's managed to move you to tears with a comment?
I don't believe it's ever happened to me before.

Truly??

I cry all the time on LJ,,comments & fics & all things B&J reduce me to a blubbering mess,,if the fic is good then I always cry lol.

I hope your story telling days are far from over,,you kill me, but it's so worth it,,hugs Jx

I'm so crushed to know they couldn't have possibly been my comments since I couldn't put into words how much I adored your story at the end. (Ironically, since I couldn't STOP commenting every step of the way!) I kept telling myself to go back and comment later, but real life took over. I did think of you often, I'm sure you know. And your story stayed with me. It was really moving and beautiful. I hated leaving their 'world'. Thank you again for sharing it with us.

much love

Maybe tell the person just that? I've said so various times and I'll say it again: Comments are a powerful force. I'm glad you agree. :)

I did tell her. In fact, I'm sure I blathered on and on about it. LOL.

Yes, it's so true: Comments can be very powerful. But that's also why it's sort of a double-edged sword. You can become so addicted to them, you forget about the story you're writing.

I'm so ridiculously flattered right now. You have absolutely no idea. And to think you thought I was flattering you! I'm so glad my comment meant so much to you, because your writing meant a lot to me. You brought the boys to life, and the other characters too, and as a hardcore Queer as Folk fan, that's a real needle-in-the-haystack situation when it comes to fanfiction. I'm so glad I found your work. So, so glad. I know that it's a story I'll go back and read time and time again.

Again, thanks so much, Anna. And I'm so glad you sent me that email, too: I had no idea how to respond to it, or how to convey how utterly charmed I feel that my comment could make such a difference to you. When I saw this post, I figured I'd just comment on it here and tell you exactly how much I value your email.

Thanks for being totally wonderful, and one of my favourite fanfic authors.

Love,
Anshika
