It's been awhile..

So things are pretty busy just now but in a good way. I went to the Silver Kingdoms Ren Faire and had a blast! I got to see people from Lione that I haven't seen in five years. One of them didn't really recognize me because he remembered me as being a "lot less confident" That made me feel very good. I also got to watch my mom have as much fun as a kid in a candy store. That was nice. I love spending time with her but unfortunately our schedules just dont mesh. I love that I can share the Faire with her. I also loved getting to hang out with Kat at Potted Fox and me and mom giving her a good start on getting a new tent.

The best part, however by far, was seeing Holly and the rest of Phoenix swords again and getting to chat with them. I am sure some of them were thinking "who's this random girl invading our tent?" but I love the troupe to death. They are a great bunch of people. They don't put on any airs and they are all very genuine. I even got to talk costuming(one of my favorite subjects) with Robin and another lady ( I never did catch her name. Carol, maybe?)on Sunday. My multi-colored staff helped with that as they were talking about colors that go with brown:) I cannot wait to see them again at ISD this year. The Ren faire may have been well run, but without Phoenix Swords it would have been much less interesting. I loved the "Cat and Fox" show they did. It was funny and very true in its moral. Holly thanked me for coming to the show and laughing. I don't see how anyone who got the jokes(and even those who didn't) could help laughing. And I love the historical show. I've seen it several times and not one thing about it ever gets old. All the people in the troupe are very gifted and talented. I consider myself very lucky to be able to spend time with them, besides just going to their wonderful shows. I Introduced Holly and Frank to Mom by saying" These are Phoenix Swords, the best Sword show ever" I meant that. I have yet to see a sword show better than thiers, or with better people.

In other news, I got a new car on Thursday of last week. 2002 Toyota Corolla. Great, except now the "Check engine" light came on. Le sigh. Dad will check it out tomorrow. Hopefully it's something little, since this Thursday (yep, in a day) I leave to go up to Cara-Chans and then Cro. Oh well. Scully said he'd give me a ride if need be. (Thank you thank you!) I still have to finish laundry, pack, write out my two in-game guild reports, go grocery shopping, fill spell packets, make guild badges and banners(if I can find where in the world those buggers got too) and prepare for a weekend where I have no clue how it's going to go. Usually I have some idea. But this time I have nothing. And the GMs are for all intents and purposes "judging" our costumes before game-on this event. This is to give us accurate costume points. This is the one thing I will be competitive about. Since it is a subjective thing(our GMs have no specific criteria, except that you must have required costuming,ie pointed ears for elves, etc) I hope that my costume will be judged fairly. I know I have one of the good costumes, but I do not know if the Gms will agree. We shall see.

Well, I am planning to get up agonizingly early tommorrow/today, so I am signing off for now.
Sweet Dreams everyone!
