I'm from the Meriden Humane Society in Meriden, CT. We're a non-profit, no-kill, privately owned shelter that's been around since 1893. (

Right now I'm desperately looking for a home for my foster cat. He has every special need in the book and I know he wouldn't fit in with most homes. I need the right person for him. He needs someone who is very patient, has at least one other cat-friendly cat, carpets they don't particularly care about, and the money to spend on frequent vet care. He's being treated for inflammatory bowel disease (which causes horrifying diarrhea, which is thankfully mostly under control with twice weekly injections), infections in his mouth, and he gets chronic dirty ears.
To add to his medical needs, he's also extremely shy. When he's crated he's a sweetheart. He loves to be brushed especially and he purrs so loudly. He's just incredibily sweet. But when he's free to roam even a small room he feels overwhelmed and tries to hide, so he needs someone that can be very patient with him.
I know it's a long-shot to find this cat a home, but he can't ever go back to the shelter (he lived there for five years, I can't send him back) and he can't live with me forever. Because I know it's going to be hard to find him the perfect home, I created him his own journal.
