I love Christmas but...

it really hasn't felt like what it used to be this past year... or even these past years. I hate to say it but I think I may have lost the spirit to celebrate. I don't know whether it's because of the reality that it's turned into a holiday based on consumerism and the obligation to buy people things rather than a celebration of tradition, family and values , or because we just had a late start in putting up the Christmas decorations.

Things are much more fun when you're young. You just enjoy in the revelry and bask in the presents showered by family & friends. When you're older, it feels much more of a chore. I may sound extremely cynical atm, but that's just how I feel about it.
