Not much going on today. I got woken uncerimoniously at 5:30 this morning because JP "heard a mouse" and was banging on junk to get it to stop making noise. His antics woke me up enough to have to go pee. Which, in turn, woke me up enough to be hungry. I laid in bed awake for an hour and half cooking in my head. Not only did I make two different kinds of rolls, but I also made oatmeal cookies, scotcharoos, peanut butter cookies, potato soup, chili, twice baked potatoes, a roast, two different kinds of breakfast casserole, and monkey bread. Needless to say, by the time seven o'clock rolled around, I was REALLY hungry. I told JP I'd let him sleep for at least two more hours if he would just let me get up and get dressed. He begrudgingly agreed. I proceeded to Wal-Mart (which was convenietly DEAD) to buy supplies for monkey bread and other food items that caught my pretend-cooking-induced brain. This included a block of Velveeta (I've been wanting tuna casserole...how weird I am), various kinds of pasta, and Alfredo sauce. As I was just leaving Sparta, I saw a sign that said "Courtney's Coffeehouse Now Open." I turned as soon as I could. Much to my delight, Sparta now has a genuine coffee-shop that serves AWESOME mochas. In my caffiene-happy state, I came home, made monkey bread, and read a cookbook for quite some time. Seriously, there isn't much better a morning than sitting in fleece and sweatpants, drinking a mocha, reading a cookbook, and smelling monkey bread baking. And the best part, I didn't have to move any time soon.
Yesterday, I was pretty much in the same mood. We had a snow day. On Thursday we got about 5 inches of snow. It partially melted, froze over night, and nothing got cleared on the back roads. My car could make it, but the buses couldn't. Oh, darn. Some six-thirty in the mornig calls are so very welcomed.
But I just looked at the clock... It is almost 11:30. Which means I get to go to Grandma Macke's for lunch. Yay for food that I don't have to pay for. However today I think I'd be okay with the cooking part. Anyway, I'll have to finish my litany later.
Hope y'all have a good day!
