Friday I went up to Gainesville to participate in the America's Next Top Model shindig that a friend-of-mine-who-will-remain-nameless-becuase-his-journal-is-locked-down-and-I-don't-want-to-reveal-too-much-about-him-or-what-he-does put together. I helped him out with some of the tasks that needed to be done. They interviewed almost double what they intended to do, started an hour and a half early and still probably turned away a good 300 girls. Not the same as 300 Spartans, though some were equally as clothed.
It was a blasted. I learned several things, girls will wish with all their might to be 5'7" and the most common answer for what makes you unique and different is...
"I'm confident and outgoing."
Seriously? That's all you could come up with? I showed my grace by tripping at least twice and almost taking my leg off with a desk. By the end of the night I wasn't planning on trying out. I went up there with the intention of doing so but I felt the drive was completely worth it just by hanging out with my friends and watching the fiasco (OMG THE SHOES!) But I was HIGHLY encouraged to try out so I did my runway walk in flipflops and tried my damnedest not do die laughing during my interview. What makes me stand out? I'm representing the NERD NATION! I actually said that. I also said I had a sense of humor and don't take myself too seriously.
I think my interview will stand out because all the other girls were either nervous or really REALLY intense where as I presented myself as an ass that laughs too much at everything.
It was alot of fun and I look forward to the next time I can help my friend-who-will-remain-nameless-becuase-his-journal-is-locked-down-and-I-don't-want-to-reveal-too-much-about-him-or-what-he-does.
