On Preview for Richard Donner and Geoff Johns' Last Son

I am chuffed to no end that the boy from Krypton looks very much like Jason.

On the storyline itself...

On the one hand, it looks interesting: hopefully it'll be a more sucessful exploration of Clark's relationship with a Krypton survivor than the first Supergirl arc was (I'm *fond* of Kara herself, mind *ducks* ---I'm just cranky about certain aspects of her current incarnation). On another---

My God, DC. You mishandled Clark and Conner, and by God, you mishandled them BADLY. So arguably you gave Conner a hero's death. Does it not occur to you that there's something's horribly dissonant about Lex grieving for Conner---and Clark not grieving for him at all? This in the wake of you "getting back to the essentials" of what Clark is: a compassionate, but still very human Clark. Yet we're supposed to be satisfied by your assertion that he IS grieving---offstage.

I don't know what it is. You're very much with the grief and woe of everyone else in the wake of IC. Are you freaked because you've finally realized (too late!)the subtext in allowing Conner to be half Clark, and half Lex? Is there something you find freakish allowing Clark to *love* someone with that parentage? Because, hi, that's Smallville-logic and I hate that show for that very reason.

I suppose what I'm trying to say is: my greatest fear in all of this? Is that you will also bungle Clark and TBFK sometime down the future, whether or not the new kidlet stays.
