Fanboyism.................Taking..........OVER!!!!

I've been nerding it up more than usual, and quite frankly I think I crossed my own line. I mean recently I had just played through Dante's Inferno - The videogame, and then I borrowed Bioshock from a friend.

Dante's Inferno was pretty sweet with how well they adapted the poem to an action game.  I had essentially played through each circle.  Granted I did find that the designers slacked off in the later levels.  I do hope they make sequels though because I want to see what they plan to do with the poems Purgatorio and Paradiso now that (SPOILER) the devil hitched a ride into Purgatorio on Dante's bandage.

Bioshock was a bit different in terms of my enjoyment.  I really was not totally into the game.  I liked the Big Daddy design, but not so much the crazy people.  It just seemed a bit too confused with defining what kind of game it is.  It was not necessarily and FPS, but more like a first person RPG (I think).  It didn't mix well with me.  Also, the story did not carry over that well with me because most of the story was told through dialogue spoken throughout gameplay.  So when I was in a gun fight someone would be telling me the story, which sucked because I really could not focus as to what was going on half the time.  The story remains a bit convoluted until the end for me.

The final thing to cap off the nerdness of late was that I bought the Halo Legends movie on my xbox 360.  For those that don't know, Japan was so intrigued by the Halo videogames that studios like Toei Animation, Production I.G., Studio 4C, and a couple more (I think) decided to make stand alone episodes to add to the Halo Universe.  There were like one to two episodes that were pretty awful in design and story, but a majority of it was pretty good.  Two of my favorite episodes were the ones titled "Odd One Out" and "The Package".

"Odd One Out" was about Spartan 1337 randomly dropped on a planet "accidentally" and him ending up fighting a prototype enemy gorilla with his bare hands.  Mind you he is a clutz, and very arrogant.  Honestly, the whole thing felt like I was watching Dragonball Z because the character design looked like DBZ, the space capsules looked like DBZ, the fight scenes looked like DBZ, the EXPLOSIONS looked like DBZ, and, for some odd reason, there was a pet dinosaur in the episode.  I liked it so much because it simply reminded me how awesome fight scenes from DBZ can look when the artists decide not to drag on a fight for 20 episodes.  Plus, I liked DBZ.

"The Package" was the final episode in the culmination, which followed Master Chief and his squad on a rescue mission in space.  Everything was in CG, but I really liked it mostly because it integrated animation and what looked like gameplay footage into something so awesome.  The animation was fluid enough to be enjoyable.  MAKES ME WANT TO BUY HALO: REACH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyways, PArty Hardy cuz I'm about to nerd it up even more next week with FFXIII
