LET IT EAT YOUR FRIENDS PAGE!

It's so weird to think that at this point last year I had just completed my first week of college. On Monday I'll be starting my second year. At this point last year I had already said goodbye to one of the weirdest summers of my life. Right now I'm trying to figure out how to say goodbye to the best summer I've ever had. The best friends I've ever known, countless road trips and plane rides and crazy plans that I never in a million years would be followed through on. New friends (these friends are golden) who feel like they've around since the beginning. Some people started to matter more than I intended them too, others I let slip away. Everything we did was the worst idea ever. Trying to work out my brain and failing, but accepting the fact that I can't think straight. Running a boarding house. The summer of melinoma. I'm not even going to try to count how many hours spent in a car. Denny's trips more often than I'd like to think about. Every single person who made this summer what it was for me, good or bad, even in the smallest way, thank you. Thanks for hanging out even when you knew I was a complete retard. Thanks for sing-a-longs in Denny's with the entire vans warped tour. Thanks for crashing in hostels with me and making sure I didn't fall off of beds. Thanks for running into waves in the ocean (people have drowned here.) Thanks for leaving your conscience's pressed between the pages of the bible in the drawer. Thanks for the trips to the lake, wild waters, virginia city, shows, the park, californ-i-a, las vegas, trl, the hilton, bowling, rocky horror picture show, reliving some silly boys dvd, the walks, the talks, the plans. I will never, ever forget this. I'll have a present for you all tomorrow.

I believe it was Cassandra who posted the atari's lyrics a week or so back, and I'm going to follow her example.

Here in this diary,
I write you visions of my summer.
It was the best I ever had.
There were choruses and sing-alongs,
and that unspoken feeling
of knowing that right now is all that matters.
All the nights we stayed up talking
listening to 80's songs;
and quoting lines from all those movies that we love.
It still brings a smile to my face.
I guess when it comes down to it...

Being grown up isn't half as fun as growing up:
These are the best days of our lives.
The only thing that matters
is just following your heart
and eventually you'll finally get it right.

Breaking into hotel swimming pools,
and wreaking havoc on our world.
Hanging out at truck stops just to pass the time.
The black top's singing me to sleep.
Lighting fireworks in parking lots,
illuminate the blackest nights.
Cherry cokes under this moonlit summer sky.
2015 Riverside, it's time to say, "goodbye."
Get on the bus, it's time to go.

Being grown up isn't half as fun as growing up:
These are the best days of our lives.
The only thing that matters
is just following your heart
and eventually you'll finally get it right.
