Watching Gordon Ramsey's F word and I realized how funny it is that in the USA we often use units like cups, ounces, feet, etc and call them English units, when the English don't even use them! He was measuring things in grams and milliliters. I don't know if you could even find kitchen measuring devices calibrated in those units around, maybe in a big city, and I don't think I've ever seen a written recipe using them.
