For independence day we drove out to my sister's place in Newberg and lit off some fireworks. Well, we also had a really good meal. My brother-in-law cooks a mean brisket. Anyway, I had a packaged mix of pyrotechnics that I bought last year and didn't use, so the original plan was just to use that. Then I noticed I didn't have a punk stick, and you can't do fireworks without a punk stick, so I went to Bi-Mart to get one. They weren't selling them on their own, but they had a big package box (about twice the size of the one I had) and I was pretty sure there would be one in there. So I got that. So we lit off like thirty different things that night and had a blast. Literally and figuratively.
My mom's apartment is getting emptier by the day. We brought some book shelves and a new table to our house last weekend and this week we finally got things arranged the way we want them. We now have a new dining room table that's got an extra 14 inches or so in length, a welcome expansion for our gaming activities. Also in the dining area, we've added a bookshelf and utilized the top two sections for games, so now the games actually live in the area where we play them.
