It's been a slow week, kids. I have no idea why I'm updating today, since the majority of the interesting shit that *might* happen *hasn't* happened yet, leaving me with a week bereft of anything useful to say. But I have an hour to kill before Serenity screens later this evening so I'm going to have to think of some filler to pass the time. Enjoy!
Well, work was a giant ball of possum dropping, as per usual: I very nearly quit a day or so before my holidays kicked in, I figured that if I was going to leave them this year then it would be the best time to do it for all concerned: I get two free payed weeks plus a week in hand, which would allow me plenty of time and spare cash to look for alternative employment and consider my options, such as they are right now, and Argos would be able to give my job to one of the unsuspecting Christmas temps and thus avoid another situation where my workmates get dropped in the vat of shit labelled "short-staffed".
But I didn't quit. Not sure why, it must be something in the air that makes me such a glutton for punishment. And I'm tired of swapping jobs the moment they start pissing me off: I'm not going to get anywhere in life in any sense of the phrase if I'm constantly hopping from one retail shit-house to another.
The computer course is going quite well, on the other hand. It's certainly nice to get back to the Land Academia and use my head once again. Indeed, the feeling is very close to nostalga, and that'd probably be for my times in college, and when I think about it in that context I feel *very* old indeed, haha.
Which reminds me: My birthday is forthcoming. Well, a month and a half away is hardly *soon*, but I'm getting all excited about this one. Last year was a quiet (but pleasant) affair, and although I certainly did *not* stay sober for the occassion, I thought that I fell some way short for what was expected of a 21st. This year, all *Hell* is going to break loose. Provided I can unite all my friends and gather them into a single point in the loose aim to rock there fucking *socks off*, that is. A bit like a latter-day lager-lout Joan of Arc, perhaps. Hmmm...yes. If you're reading this, you're invited.
Except you, Mike.
*snigger*
Going to Glasgow this weekend to meet Emily and Friends! Woo! That's if I don't get Edingbrough confused with Glasgow again as I buy my tickets. For the fourteenth time. Jesus, I swear there's something Fruedian about it. 'Twould be an adventure if I fucked it up, that's for sure.
Beyond that, I have no idea what my final week off holds for me, although if Simon brings me that funky graphics card of his with him tonight then I suspect that it's going to be distinctly Fable-flavoured, and its about fucking time, too. It's been almost weeks since I last devoted my invaluable spare time to a game prettier than most women I know.
And I think that last comment is going to bring me some fist-shaped bad karma, isn't it Ladies? ;)
And after *that*...well, a merry christmas with Argos, the bumper-filled sleigh of rancid dissentry, misery and festive despair. It's like recieiving a hefty turd lovingly gift wrapped in toilet paper, isn't it....Adam? >_<
