Labyrinth Housewarming
Thank you Jane, Peter, Paul and (that other guy I don't know, someone please remind me) for an enjoyable housewarming party for the Labyrinth Student Share house.
Clean skins are good - $10 French Brut and $12 Shiraz.
I don't and didn't get a hang over.
I know (as a health professional in training) that binge drinking is bad. That's all I'm saying on this topic. *shifty eyes*
It was a bloody good night in a bloody good quality share house complete with swimming pool. Mark Tan you are a crazy crazy man for swimming last night in the cold June weather.
Antibiotics and Alcohol
Peter Chan, I believe you have been sucked into a common myth about antibiotics and alcohol. I checked my pharmacology text books, I looked up amoxycillin in the MIMS drug reference and checked some online resources.
"There is a generally held belief that alcohol should not be consumed while on a course of oral antibiotics. This advice is correct if a patient is taking metronidazole, cephamandole (may cause a disulfiram-like reaction), and possibly oral ketoconazole (may cause facial flushing). However there is no contraindication to the consumption of alcohol with other antibiotics." [Source:

Drinking alcohol might not help you get better but it isn't going to interact with your amoxycillin.
Tidy up
My room is a bit messy. I'm tidying up and I'll post an after photo when it's done to instil a sense of accomplishment.
