The perils of warehouse work

Feb 12, 2007 10:21

There was a sign today, a sign perhaps that I should hurry up and finish my degree (last sem) so I can get behind the safety of a desk and cubicle.

The "sign" came in the form of a 25kg box of books that fell from 10m onto my head. Luckily, the box had to make it through the roof of the print room I was standing in which slowed its decent. How it managed to miss every support beam on the way through is quite amazing actually.

A headache and a lump was the result but thankfully, no concussion.

1000000:1 chance of that chain of events occuring with that sort of timing(about the same odds West Ham has of not been relegated this season).

A comedy of errors for sure!

EDIT: Looks like some minor soft tissue damage, no harm done :)
