new bed and stuff
I know, only one Florida trip post, but hang on. Since I'm posting photos to flickr now I need a paid account. I don't get paid till Friday so I'm holding out.
Friday night I downloaded the Command and Conquer 3 demo. It was a short demo but I think I will like the game. However I'm going to wait till I finish Dawn of War before I get it.
I was also pricing a new computer this past weekend too. I hear a rumor that AMD is dropping prices this month so I'm pretty stoked. Here is what I am thinking about doing:
Right now this list is pretty pricey. However since I started to price the ram has dropped $30. I was going to get a Nvidia 7950 card but even with two in SLI they don't even come close to the 8800 which is only 50 bucks more than a single card.
Last Saturday I got a new bed. I ended up getting a solid oak queen for around $300 bucks. Not bad at all. However, the head board is almost 6 feet tall on it, and it took more space that I imagined that it would. It only has 4 inches of clearance under the rails so I can't put anything under it. Even the cats have to crawl to get under it. Sometime here soon I'm going to the hardware store to pick up a 4x4 or larger stud to make some risers for it. Alisha helped me set the thing up, but after I got the rails on the head and foot board I was thinking about its size and how to put it. She was like "come on" and finished the rest of it before I could say hold on.
On Sunday, Alisha and I went to church with my parents. After church all of us went to Beavercreek to see Wild Hogs. We miss read the internet and missed the show by 20 minutes. So we went shopping to kill 2 hours until the next showing. I got a screaming flying monkey [thinkgeek.com] for 5 bucks. The thing is great and I get a blast playing with it. The cats hate it and the dog wants to play. The movie itself was pretty funny, we all enjoyed it.
Work this week has been pretty lame. Still in the post release downer, yet things are already picking up this week. I get to write an estimate out for a mil-std that doesn't even exist yet. It shouldn't be to hard though.
My workouts this week has been pretty good. I'm not quite up on my running but I am doing it a little faster. I have started heavier weights this week too. I was able to do 2 sets of 10 all around the machine. I could have done another but my arms where sore and I didn't want to fall asleep on the drive home.
Last night I finished the Eldar campaign for Dawn of War. That is 4 campaigns out of 7 I have done in that game. I'm on the Imperium of Man now. It is going to be harder since the infantry are canon fodder.
My Aunt Diana is coming to visit this weekend. Her boyfriend sold us his 95 dodge ram. I think the idea is that Emily gets to borrow the F150 to take to school. However the original idea was that we get the dodge for her to borrow. She is coming over on Friday and I get to take her to Centerville, IN on Saturday night when I goto Alisha's for Easter this weekend.
Over the past weekend we have had a pair of cats hang around the house. We thought that they was the neighbors behind us (the same ones that we got Hooky and Larry from), but they wasn't. These cats hung out in the windows and by the door trying to get in. Really friendly too. We believe that they are house broken and somebody dropped them off in the neighborhood. Mom took a pie plate of food out and they knew right then what it was and wolfed it down. Yesterday we let them in the garage to get out of the storms coming through the area. I setup a litter box and they waited 2 seconds before using it. Still not sure what we are going to do with them. They are staying the garage for now. Mom has been trying to come up with names. Darren says that they are never going to leave now and Mom and I were like they haven't left yet.
The other day I got my new visa card from my bank. $15k limit on the thing :) That is like 4 times the amount of my Wells Fargo one with half the interest. I had to try it out on Amazon by ordering 1st and 3rd Lord of the Rings extended versions (I have the 1st in normal relase and the 2nd in extended). And for the hell of it, I got Alisha the 3rd season of 7th Heaven.
That is all I have on the mind right now.
