(TM) 213. Sorrow Invented

Jan 17, 2008 18:41

"There's enough sorrow in the world, isn't there, without trying to invent it." -- E.M. Forster, A Room With A View.

[Locked to muse knowledge]

"But humans invented it anyway."

"They invented us."

"Sorrow in the form of Cylons."

"And for that they have paid."

Spoilers for 3.19, Crossroads pt. 1; plus utterly cracktastic, non-spoiler-based speculation for season 4 )

Thank you, hon. This one just smacked me upside the head once I connected the words "invented sorrow" with the Cylons. *shakes head, hears rattle*

You're welcome. This still smacks me straight in the gut.

Thank you! My brain's still recovering from pouring that one out. I feel like ... well, like I spent several hours talking with Leoben. On chamalla. ;)

To Mun: For some reason, I scrolled down and read the second part first. It works in that order as well. :) I love the idea that Adama has a bad reaction to chamalla. The description, of the Cylons especially, was all very well done. *bows to you*

Oh wow! Nice to know that this piece was that flexible. ^_^ Yes, I have occasionally wondered what might happen if agnostic Bill wound up dosed with chamalla ... a bad trip, to say the least. Thanks so much for the comment!

Frankly, I'm surprised something like that hasn't happened before.

That was an incredibly enjoyable read and I hope you do more with it. It's quite fascinating to think about what Bill might do if he had a vision tossed into his lap like that.

It's a tantalizing idea. I think that what Bill might do would probably depend on how well he could push that vision from his mind. His pragmatist's soul is much more comfortable leaving the metaphyscial to Laura.

Thank you so much. ^_^
