The dark doesn't really suit me anymore.
I really loved night when I was a child because there was something forbidden about it. You can't stay up, you can't eat large amounts of food, bed time bed time bed time. Nights in summer - those were the most interesting, warm, and free memories I have of my childhood. Dirty hide-and-seek and 9 p.m. ice cream trucks.
Night for adulthood is really wasteful. There isn't many secrets to the night to discover anymore. It's just a platform to exhibit all of the excess from your day. Reveling and endless re-telling of the accomplishments and/or despair. The night is so dependent on one's day that it's almost predictable. It's all about cap-offs. Endings. The race to start anew.
I used to despise the morning, but it's very possible that I don't know what I've been missing.
