[01] I was inspired by Wing NYC, and I decided to use my crochet skills for something other than long scarfs and make this!

[1] love that neck scarf thing. make me one and me love you long time.

[2] Your hair def is totally insane haha, i want to see it from all angles and how it looks when you do it all properly for my final assesment on it.

[3] i have this weird thing about old movies- where i just cant get past the way they talk- did all americans have that crazy quazi british like undertone and weird pronounciation thing going on? or is that just an old time actor thing? it drives me nuts, and it drives me more nuts because im missing out on classics...simply because it irritates me so much. My friend bridget loves hitchcock- so i suppose i should check em out.

[4] Regina is wonderful!

Everyone sound British/Irish/Scottish up until about the industrial revoltuion. There was a dialectal shift in mid-50s into the 60s.

Basically, it used to be North, New York, Boston, South. The prestige of specific dialects shifted, and spawned into sub-classes. Now we have easily 50+ dialects and about 20 other hard to dictate ones.

You can hear the biggest difference in speech from the 30s compared to the 50s, and then try out the 70s. Big wide differences. The 80s and 90s have really installed a lot of Americanisms into our speech and more slang than ever. "like" "totally" + pop culture slang has just thrown us into the fastest evolving era of language known to man.

Yes, there you have it. Just watch the fucking films. ;)
