Hot Hot Heat - Elevator

So I was really excited for this album to come out; Hot Hot Heat - Elevator. I think I built it up in my mind too much, don't get me wrong, it's very good, but it lacks some of the silly exuberance that I really liked about Make up the Breakdown. Definitely worth the $15 though.

Instrumentally, they've moved a bit away from their indie-rock sound towards the mainstream, probably because of Dante Decaro's departure from the band, and probably one of the reasons MTV has been featuring them. Fortunately, it's impossible to escape Steve Bays' uber-indie vocals. They've grown a little lyrically too; a definite plus.

Tracks worth downloading include:

Running Out Of Time
Goodnight Goodnight
You Owe Me An IOU
Jingle Jangle
Island Of The Honest Man
Shame On You
Elevator

Not bad for a 15 track CD that includes 2 intro/instrumental shorts.

Catch them on Conan O'Brien tonight at 12:30, they're the musical guest, and they're one of those bands that really is just better live.
