Hey sports racers! It's the summer before my senior year. Know what that means?

If you guessed

~Cross-Country Road Trip~

then you are correct! And your prize is our tentative itinerary:

Dates are still pretty fuzzy, but they might go something like this.

July 25-July 30: British Columbia. We generally miss all the big cities, including Vancouver, which makes me sad, but at least the drive is gorgeous.

July 31-August 1: Seattle. The current thought is to just spend a day in Seattle, to get our Pike Place/U District fix (and to give me a chance to see three different family friends who speak Greek).

August 2: Portland. Where I will be seeing most of my friends from Athens! \o/

August 3-4: Driving east, hopefully with a stop in Salem to see BFF, to reach . . .

August 5: Denver, where I can bask in the glory of the Tattered Cover and perhaps see one or two people?

August 6-7: Chicago. Here's where things get especially hazy, because there will be familial obligations (and ice cream) in Buchanan, MI, and who knows when exactly we'll leave Chicago to get there and how long we'll stay there. But I can guarantee I'll be in Chicago for at least a day, and it's possible (although not probable, on this trip) that I'll come back before heading on to Pittsburgh. (That depends on how much my mom needs to get some alone time, largely.)

August 15ish?: Pittsburgh! For SENIOR YEAR. WHAT. AGH.

So this post has two purposes: 1. to announce where I'll be in August, when, and 2. to beg shamelessly for audio entertainment. What's your favorite road-tripping/driving music? Do you know any good audiobooks? (I listened to WWZ and Border Princes in June, wandering around Athens and Pittsburgh, and fell totally in love even when Eve Myles became totally inaudible; who did the sound editing on that thing?.) Keep in mind that I'll be driving with my dad most of the way, so, you know, audio versions of Fanny Hill would maybe not be so good.

(Some of you may be seeing this post twice, because I'm posting it on Facebook as well. Sorry about that! I just like redundancy.)

the great 2010 road trip
