Twilight! - A magical and beautiful love story!!!
So I saw the midnight showing of Twilight tonight and wow. Now I want to read the books. Anyways I posted a review on imdb.com because some people were bashing it and I normally don't post reviews but I had to for this movie. So here is my review that I wrote on there:
OK, so I never read the books but have heard a lot about it. I myself am a huge fan of vampire based stories. When I was little Interview with a Vampire was my favorite movies! (yes I saw it when I was like in 4th grade and really that was more of an adult movie but I grew up with movies part of why I'm studying film) That's what started my obsession with vampires at a young age, then when I was in 5th grade in 1997 Buffy the Vampire Slayer came out (the show not the movie never saw that till after I'd been watching the show for a few years and yea not that good) I was so addicted and became my first real fandom and first time having an obsession with a show.
After Buffy I've loved most other vampire movies for the most part and then when Moonlight came on I LOVED that show so much! So mad they canceled it and now there is True Blood which well I'm not really a fan of I've been watching it and it's not that I don't like it I just don't know if I like it yet, it hasn't hooked me.
So hearing all this stuff about Twilight from people who had been reading the books I was excited and finally when a trailer came out I couldn't wait to see it, so I looked it up on youtube and umm yea it did nothing for me. The trailer made me not even want to see the movie it just looked like some stupid little teeny booper movie that deals with some vampire stuff in it. Though I was still left intrigued by all I heard so tonight my boyfriend, his sister and me went to see the midnight showing and WOW was I surprised!!!! None of us have read the book but we all loved it!! My boyfriend for being a guy loved it even though it was very romantic and I was gonna say sappy but really I didn't find it sappy or corny. My boyfriend's sister got out of a four year relationship awhile ago and has been one of those "I hate love and romantic things" person, but she loved the movie! When we got out of the movie tonight she said how she doesn't like stuff about love anymore but the romance in this movie was just too beautiful not to love it and it was her favorite movie! And really I thought that this movie was one of the most romantic movies I've seen of all times! Just the chemistry between Kristen and Robert is just so beautiful! I don't think I've ever seen chemistry that great which isn't saying that I haven't thought other two actors had great chemistry before but there was just something magical about them that brought it up to a whole new level.
Sure, the film may not be perfect and I can't really judge it based on the books but for what it's worth it is one of the best love stories!
