She runs with Vampires.

Stephenie Meyer describes her books simply:

Twilight is about finding true love
New Moon is about losing true love
Eclipse is about choosing true love

w00t. A continuation to my previous, vaguely short post on my current hang-up. So eager to even do a post about it, I updated while I was halfway through with Twilight. For those unfamiliar to the series, it's basically about a love struggle between a Vampire and a Human girl and the dangers that surround their relationship and loved ones around them. Which temptation is harder - Blood, or Body?

So besides falling ill and cycling till my butt hurts (again), I've been constantly reading and THINKING about Stephenie Meyer's Twilight book series. I used to see people raving about how good the books were online but I never gave her work much thought.

..Until I finally decided to give it a try and picked up the first installment of four books - Twilight.

Sia larrr, I was hooked instantly. I've never come across such a compelling novel which involves fantasy, suspense, action, romance and mystery. (That excludes Harry Potter because I've never read the books, but I can definitely understand how a HP fan feels now XD) What has me even more excited is that the movie is being filmed as I type and the speculated release date is 12 Dec 2008. It'll probably hit our local screens in 2009 (dammit). Still, I AM ecstatic! Funny how I never noticed Robert Pattinson when he played Cedric Diggory in HP...Probably because I was too busy looking at Victor Krum XD. But he look so deliciously grown up now playing Edward Cullen. And why is it that somehow I keep picturing Alexis Bledel as Bella?! Though I'm not sure if her looks would be convincing enough to play plain Isabella Swan. Alexis Bledel is anything but plain :3 I've never seen Kristen Stewart's works but I am keen to see her play out the role of Bella in the Twilight.

So. I finished Twilight within a couple of days. I couldn't put it down!! I even re-read it a couple of times. I had my hands on the 2nd book even before I had completed the first. Eh but It was a good call. I managed to grab the last paperback edition at Borders, since Twilight wasn't a hardcover too. Paperbacks rock lah. I can't imagine carrying Hardcovers around. But then again it doesn't make much sense now because I'd finish the book at home and the chances of reading it outside would be, ehm, close to zero. Baaaah.

I read New Moon within a day. I was surprised to realise how emotionally attached I was to the characters at the beginning of the book. Its like I actually understood how they felt and why they had behaved in certain ways. New Moon is also packed with more action with near death descriptions, and also the interesting addition of the Volturi. Which now has me itching to travel to Italy get Eclipse , the 3rd installment. But. It's. a. Hardcover. ARRGH. I want my collection to be pretty paperbacks. Haiyah, who knows. The temptation is so strong I might succumb eventually. Or.... *hinthint* birthday*cough*29*cough*march*coughcough*

A proposed list of songs to be included in its movie soundtrack is out too. Big names like Muse, Radiohead, Travis, Coldplay, Collective Soul, Linkin Park, Cranberries and My Chemical Romance are listed. Personally I feel that Daughtry's Crashed should be included. The lyrics of the song and the mood it portrays are almost reflections of Twilight.

Addicted. All I want now is a ice cold, marble like Vampire with topaz coloured eyes that shift from golden to black. Whose smooth, icy skin glitters and shines like a million tiny diamonds when exposed to bright sunlight. Who would piggyback me as he runs at the speed of sound, cruising through dense forestation without a care. And whose vast strength only allows him to play a game of baseball during a thunder storm (read and find out why ^^).
