Hermione is not descibed as chubby anywhere. Also Dudley is not merely overweight. He is morbidly obese until he takes up boxing--and that has more to do with his parents indulging his every whim as abuse. Harry's thinness is also a bad thing. Both kids are abused and that is the sign of their abuse.

Plenty of other characters are described as thin and plump. I do not see clear moral delinations along those lines. Voldemort is described as skeletal. Mrs. Weasley is plump until stress trims her down. Dudley and Umbridge are both plump or fat--but that has to do with their own self control. Umbridge is manaically controlling of other people, but probably is totally indulgent about what she eats.

Being healthy and eating well are clearly viewed in a positive light. Hermione eats. Ron and Harry eat. And Harry flourishes under the crazy Hogwart's food.

Fleur complains about the Hogwart's food making her fat--but I thought that was supposed to point to how superficial she is.

I do not see JKR as a hypocrite at all. I do not think you can isolate two characters from a six book series and make your case soundly.

What if I said she was against pimple faced guys with cockney accents because Stan Shunpike seems so stupid?

"stupid" is not how you spell "awesome".
