I'm finding all sorts of shout-outs in my work today.
First, I had to enter a date of 6/18/08. And as I'm entering it, I'm thinking to myself -
"What's the significance of Six-Eighteen? Is that a date I should know? Did something happen on that day? Six-Eighteen is... oh. Not a date." (I think the "ultimate" icon would be appropriate here, if I had it in my collection. Or an "It's what it is" icon.) I thought it would be especially appropriate if today was Six Oh Eight, but I cannot count and today is Seven Oh Eight. Today is a certain person's birthday, though, so I guess that makes up for it.
Then, there was an amount of $20.17. And again, "What's Twenty-Seventeen? That sounds familiar... 2017... I'm thinking Miami... Aha! Miami 2017. 'Before we all lived here in Florida... before the Mafia took over Mexico...'"
I was considering putting up the first two as a mini trivia contest: "What's the significance of Six-Eighteen and Twenty-Seventeen to Adina?" And... well, I guess it still can be because I didn't state right out what it made me think of, but I think that if you know it, it's pretty obvious. And if you don't know it, then you won't no matter what.
Several quotes that caught my eye today:
"The best car safety device is a rear-view mirror with a cop in it."
- Dudley Moore
"Without fanatacism we cannot accomplish anything."
- Eva Peron, Argentine leader
