I was browsing through the arts section of Saturday's
Bergen Record, and in it they had reviews of movies, stage shows, restaurants, and stores around the area. One of the stores they reviewed was
Fountains of Wayne, an outdoor decoration place. You can get fountains, outdoor plant containers, patio furniture, stuff like that.
The group Fountains of Wayne (of "Stacy's Mom" fame) got their name from the store. It's right near where one of the guys used to live.
Wikipedia says: "The band name was taken from Fountains of Wayne, a lawn ornament store in Wayne, New Jersey. The store is located at the intersection of Route 46 and Route 23, not far from Montclair, New Jersey, the hometown of the band's bassist and cofounder Adam Schlesinger."
Anyway, so at the end of the review for the store was a line: "For more info, visit the website..." The website address they gave was Fountainsofwayne.com. I giggled to myself and wondered if people ever went to that site expecting to see the group and instead got the store. So then I Googled "Fountains of Wayne" to see what popped up. Fountainsofwayne.com is the site for the group. Fountainsofwaynenj.com is the site for the store. The paper got it wrong and I am endlessly amused by that.
