The difference between a kitten and a cat is that the cat thinks about where they're going to land before they jump. The kitten thinks that halfway up is soon enough to plan the landing.

Sort of an anti-story. Thirteen-year old cat thought about jumping into the box of Christmas ornaments, looked in and found no landing spot, so didn't jump. Rita said something about the cat being "such a kitten" and I said no, not really.
