Flowers and rainbows, sweets and the sun in a clear blue sky. Everything painted in brilliant colours. The small boy lay underneath a tree. Its branches swayed back and forwards. Through the rustling leaves small patches of light twinkled over his face and in front of his eyes. The grass was soft and a beautiful spring green. The wind was soft and passed by without a sound.
Rain and sand and clouds. Everything basked in grimness, having lost the brilliant colours. The boy sat behind the window. His head resting on his hand. Outside was cold and wet, inside was no different. Even the fire seemed to have lost its warm appeal. As lightening flashed in front of his eyes, strong winds passed by, taking with it leaves and branches and anything in its way.
Yet, no one noticed the brave heroes that courted the colourful ladies in the sun, that fought the golden magical lions in a brave and terrible fight. No one cared about the dwarfs running around the trees after the pink and purple pixies, teaching red or green dragons a lesson as the fires scorched their beards. No one, save for the little boy who, as time came to leave, never truly left them on their own.
