Warning: Underwear is discussed in this post
Lately I have been watching W on occasion, and there are all these shows with people getting makeovers or houses getting makeovers... or finances getting makeovers. Anyway, in one of the shows the host is a real fan of cutting up undergarments because they are not deemed sexy enough. Sometimes they just are old, with shot elastics or holes or something. So, I decided to throw out anything with holes in it, because I keep these things so that I can put off dealing with it and getting new things. So, I disposed of any socks, underwear or pj's with unwanted holes in them. Unfortunately, this means that I have to go shopping. This is probably a good thing though. Usually buying new stuff is good... but it is too much to ask that there be underwear without bows, laces, ribbons, etc. and that don't make me think of strippers? Even department stores don't seem to sell normal underwear anymore. This is one of the big things I miss about being a kid. Well, I am too busy this week, so I will set out next weekend. I only have enough underwear to last a week anyway. So, it's either shopping or doing laundry, except I won't have enough laundry to really warrant doing a load then! So I have to go shopping. This was an excellent/evil plan. Damn me.
Time to finish folding laundry and reorganizing things. Then I suppose I should get some sleep. Why do weekends feel so short? Oh right, because I work on Saturdays. Why are weekends only two days long anyway?
One of the pairs of socks I tossed actually didn't match, but the partners of each had had holes in them, and I had managed to get rid of those earlier, but just kept the others even though they didn't match. They were both blue and had characters from Winnie the Pooh on them, so they matched in theme. Yeah, I know. I suck. So, if anyone needs normal, boring underwear, you can come a-hunting with me on Saturday morning. I'll be happy when I have new things, I suppose. Until then I just feel a slight bitterness, like "why is something so necessary so difficult to find?!?" At least I am fairly set for socks...
