pride weekend

This weekend has been BIG!

Friday was Climax. We went to Matt's place for canapés, sushi and other little nibbles... and mojitos! Love apple mojitos! I don't know how many people he thought there was going to be - he'd cooked loads of food!

Kurt was there (a guy Matthew was dating - they are official now). Matt and I had our little banter back and forth, like we do, while Matt was ironing a shirt (It took him 20 minutes!). The way Matt and I are with each other is like we have known each other for years... which is why Kurt was completely shocked to discover we'd only met 3 weeks ago. Because of his job, Kurt is known by a lot of people. It's also well known, because he's very open about it, that he's HIV-positive.

Rachael and Karen (not lesbians) arrived about an hour later. Craig wasn't coming because he was too tired from work. He thought he would have been sent to Newcastle to sort out a management dilemma, but was sent to Manchester to sort something else out, instead. He was back in Sheffield for the evening, but was too tired to join the parties.

Climax was brilliant, and we were completely tanked up on Mojitos and poppers. We were stood talking outside the bathrooms, waiting for our friends, and this girl just dropped flat to the floor. Oh she did go down like a sack of shit. It was bizarre how it happened, but not at all unusual. Later, there had been a leak in the men's bathroom, and I saw a lad go down in a pool of what I can only imagine was piss.

Climax finished at 3am, and then we moved onto Dempseys. Dempseys is bloody horrible. Someone is too trigger-happy with that damn smoke-machine, and it's full of pervy-looking old men.

Matt gave me the keys to his apartment, and Matt and Kurt went back to Kurt's place. That was at 5:30am! It's bloody horrible walking out of a club to find daylight and shops setting up to begin trading.

I woke up at 11am. Matt had forgotten his phone, but Kurt had my number. Matt asked if I was bothered about going to Endcliffe Park for the Pride festival. I really wasn't in the mood, and neither was he. He said he was going to be home soon to clean up from the cocktail party, we could watch a few films and order Chinese food.

I dozed a little longer, and then decided to get motivated. I cleaned the apartment for him; disinfected the kitchen, washed the dishes, made the bed. I did everything except dust! I'm nice like that.

I wanted to shower and grab some fresh clothes, but I had the only keys to the apartment so I txt Kurt to say I was going to be gone for about an hour. It was more like one and a half hours. I had been back at Matt's for about half an hour when Matt got home to find he had no cleaning to do.

We watched Street Kings. I'd never heard of it, but Keanu Reeves and Forrest Whitaker was in it. I ate sweet chilli chicken and special fried rice... then fell to sleep.

At around 8pm, we went back into Sheffield. Affinity was packed full, but we still got in. Craig was coming out so we met him there. Kurt is the bar manager at Affinity, and as Matt is with him, we get discounts on our drinks. Yay! It's always handy to have a bar manager in your pocket. As many of the bouncers work at more than one place, and I am on first name terms with them, I am now fully integrated into the Sheffield gay scene. It didn't take me long; I've impressed myself. I love networking!

We drank more mojitos, and lots of Redbull. I have drank so much Redbull this weekend, my insides are going to be all wrong. Craig was getting tired. I asked Matt if he was going to Kurt's place again. I asked Craig if I could crash at his place again, and he said yes but he was going to straight to sleep. Yeah... right! Haha!

He started work at noon... but I made him late. We actually exchanged numbers this time. Once he was ready for work, I opened the door for us to leave, and he pulled me back, pushing me back against the wall for a "goodbye morning kiss."

Just had a 40 minute chat on the phone with Matt, talking about how he feels for Kurt. It's so cute. He has no plans, and neither do I, so I'm heading back over to his place to watch movies and eat pizza. Yum!
