// ... watching every motion
in my foolish lover’s game
on this endless ocean
finally lovers know no shame ... //

He watched silently, a scowl twisting his lips. His hands clenched into fists, muscles tightening, tensing. Noting the stiffness in his body with surprise, he consciously relaxed his limbs, removing the scowl from his face.

It returned the moment he saw an arm snake around the waist of the woman. His woman. A growl escaped his lips as the sound of her laughter travelled across the corridor, teasing his senses.

His heart twisted painfully as she placed a hand on the other man’s arm, a sick weight settling in the pit of his stomach. A voice in his head calmly told him that he was being irrational, that there was nothing between the two of them but sex, that they had made no promises to each other. She could flirt with whomever she pleased.

He found a somewhat perverse pleasure in shutting the voice out, his gaze once again falling on the laughing redhead.

His eyes cooled to blue glaciers. She was his, like he was hers. That they had made no promises to each other didn’t matter. All that he knew was that every time he saw someone else touch her, the insane urge to rip out their heart with his bare hands passed through him. Not that he was a violent person, mind you.

He growled again as she pushed the other away playfully but the twisting in his gut eased as he left, leaving her in the corridor. He watched her turn, smirked when her eyes caught with his. Again he felt the rush of pleasure as a blush suffused her cheeks. He walked towards her, a predatory smirk on his face.

“Ch ... Chris.”

He felt a little thrill at the stutter in her voice, leaning in and backing her against the wall. His voice, when he spoke, came out as a soft purr.

“Hello lover.”

He brought his head to hers, blonde strands intermingling with red locks as his lips found the smooth column of her neck. Lita’s hands curled around his head, a low moan escaping her throat. He lifted his head, looking into her flushed face. He trailed his fingertips down her cheek, enjoyed the way she leaned into his touch. He smiled before leaning in, his mouth settling over hers. His tongue snaked out, licking at the soft fullness of her lips, tasting the slickness of her lip gloss. Her lips parted under the pressure of his, a soft mewl echoing in her throat as his tongue stroked hers playfully. He grinned at the sound; his hands at her waist, pulling her body flush against his. His mouth moved over hers, exploring the wet warmth.

He felt a gentle tug on his hair and lifted his mouth, breathing heavily. Lita’s mouth was swollen slightly, hazel eyes glazed. Her hands loosened their hold in his hair as she looked at him, body trembling.

“Not here...” Her eyes fell over his shoulder, meeting the amused gaze of Lilian as she walked past. He watched her turn her eyes back to his and leaned down, stealing a kiss. The redhead pulled away, licking her lips.
“Tonight. My hotel room.” Her voice sounded slightly breathless as she pulled his head down to hers, kissing him softly. He groaned as she shifted away, her eyes full of promise.

“Tonight then.” He caught her hand as she began walking away. She looked at him, eyes widening when he pressed a kiss to the open palm. His blue eyes glittered.
“My room.” She nodded, slipping away. He smiled, watching her leave.

Tonight would be perfect. He’d make sure of it.

// ... turning and returning
to some secret place inside
watching in slow motion
as you turn around and say
take my breath away ... //

She stood in front of the door, eyeing the gold numbers nervously. She took a deep breath, one hand reaching out to the doorknob before falling back to her side. Lita sighed, looking down at herself. She wasn’t sure why she was so dressed up, the short deep blue dress hugging her curves, her hair carefully arranged around her face. It was wasted, she knew it. She would go into that room and she would fuck Chris Jericho like she had every other night. Her appearance would change nothing. She flinched instinctively as the words registered. No, not fuck, she corrected herself. She wouldn’t reduce what they had, what she felt for him by using the crude word. She would go inside and they would make love, and she would once again lose herself in the knowledge that he was hers, if only for the night.

She could feel her heart twist at the thought and firmly squashed the little spring of hope that welled up. Chris liked her; she knew that, but only as a friend. He would never feel the way she did about him, would never love her like she did him. Guys like him never fell for girls like her.

And that was why tonight would be the end of it. She couldn’t do it anymore, was sick of the tears that seemed to be a part of her life now. She’d always sworn that she would never let a male control her emotions like this, but back then she’d never met Chris Jericho. And it hurt to know that she was starting to wish she’d never known the man who’d stolen her heart. It hurt to know that this was just a fling to him, but she could accept it, could cherish the memories that she had of their time together. She would have this night, and that would have to be enough.

She reached for the handle, twisting it to find it unlocked. She took another deep breath and stepped in, eyes closed.

It would end tonight.

// ... take my breath away
watching I keep waiting
still anticipating love
never hesitating
to become the fated ones
turning and returning
to some secret place to hide
watching in slow motion
as you turn to me and say
take my breath away ... //

“Oh geez.” The words flew out of her mouth as her eyes opened. She gasped in surprise, her eyes wide as she stared around the room. Instead of the normal glare of hotel lighting, the room was lit by flickering candles that gave the room a soft, romantic glow. She frowned at the thought, shaking her head. There was nothing, and nor would there ever be anything, romantic about the relationship she had with the blonde Canadian.

Movement from the corner of the room drew her eye and she turned to see the man in question silhouetted in the light spilling out of the bathroom. Their eyes met and as his eyes travelled over her body, she felt foolishly overdressed. His eyes met hers again and she thought, not for the first time, that she could easily drown in those glittering blue pools.

Shutting the door behind her, she fully entered the room and stood there nervously. Her tongue moistened dry lips, ruining the effect of the lipstick she had so carefully applied earlier. She felt her mouth go dry, acknowledged the slow uncoiling of heat in her lower belly as his eyes darkened, his legs carrying him to her.

Eyes wide, she looked at him curiously. He swallowed, his eyes tracing the curves clearly outlined by the dress. She smirked slightly, stepping closer to him and trailed her fingertips down his jaw and neck, tilting her head.

“Hello lover...” Her voice a sultry purr, she imitated his earlier words. Her hand curled around his neck, tugging his head down to meet hers. A pout curved her lips as he stepped away, moving towards the small radio. He walked back to her as the soft music filtered through the room, holding his hand out.

“Dance with me.”

She stepped into his arms hesitantly, eyes searching his. His arms pulled her flush against him and she rested her head against his chest as they swayed in time to the music. She could feel him playing with her hair and smiled, sighing contentedly.

“You look amazing tonight.” She smiled at the words, looking up at him shyly.

“Thank you... I feel kinda overdressed though.” She said uncertainly, referring to the difference between their clothes. Chris shrugged, his eyes serious.

“I still think you look amazing.” He pressed a kiss to her nose and she sighed, closing her eyes. She felt his body tense and fought the urge to cry. Why was he being so god damned sweet tonight?

“Baby, what’s wrong?” The easy use of the endearment brought tears to her eyes. The redhead blinked rapidly, attempting to dissolve the tears. His hands rested lightly on her arms as he stepped back and looked at her.

“Li, sweetheart?” The soft tone of his voice broke through the fragile barrier she’d built over her heart. The tears fell, slipping down her cheeks, gleaming in the candlelight.

// ... through the hourglass I saw you
in time you slipped away
when the mirror crashed I called you
and turned to hear you say ... //

“I can’t do this anymore.”

The words escaped her mouth as a strangled sob. Through the haze of tears she could see him tense, stiffen.

“Can’t do what?” His voice was low. She was sure she imagined the slight waver in his voice. A little voice in her head told her to shut up, to stop before she ruined everything, but the ache in her heart prompted her to speak.

“This. Us. I can’t do this anymore Chris.” His hands fell away from her arms and when he stepped back she could feel her heart break all over again. She watched his expression close off, watched him nod. Tears still trailing down her cheeks, she walked to the door, rested her hand on the cool metal.

“Wait.”

// ... if only for today
I am unafraid
take my breath away ... //

He watched her stop at the door; saw the trembling in her shoulders.

“Lita, please. Don’t go.” He said desperately, closing the distance between them. He couldn’t let her leave, not without knowing why. He spun her around, heart twisting as he saw her tearstained face.
“Oh, baby...” He drew her into his arms, ignoring her struggles.

“Don’t, Chris, please.” She pulled away from him slightly, breaking the grip he had on her.

“Li, baby, I - ” The redhead pushed away from him, eyes flashing.

“Don’t call me that! Don’t act like you really care.” He listened to her incredulously, eyes blurring.

“You think I don’t care?” His voice was loud, desperate. He had to get her to listen. “I care too god damned much Li!” He watched her eyes widen and continued angrily. “I watched him touch you today and all I wanted to do was rip his fucking hands out!” He took a breath and plunged on.

“Damnit Lita, I’m in love with you!”

// ... watching every motion
in this foolish lover’s game
haunted by the notion
somewhere there’s a love in flames ... //

The words echoed throughout the room. He held his breath, watched her face pale. Time seemed to slow, each second taking an hour to pass. His heart thudded in his chest, the steady beat becoming erratic.

“You ... you love me?” The softly spoken question hung in the air. He nodded his head miserably, eyes downcast. She didn’t love him. He should have kept his mouth shut.

“Look Lita, I know you don’t feel the same, but please, don’t go.” Lita looked at him, stepping closer. His eyes flew open as he felt her lips press on his in a gentle kiss.

“Chris? I love you.” His eyes widened, disbelief warring with hope.

“Then why? Why were you leaving?”

“Because it hurt.” Her voice broke slightly. “It hurt so much to know, to think that I didn’t mean anything to you.”

He reached for her, surprised when she willingly embraced him, her face buried in the crook of his neck.
“I love you Lita.” He repeated his earlier words, hands wrapping around her hair.

“Then show me.” Her voice was plaintive, pleading. “Please show me.” He nodded, smiling softly. His hands reached for the zipper on her dress, rubbing soothingly on her back when she tensed.

“Let me love you baby.”

// ... turning and returning
to some secret place inside
watching in slow motion
as you turn my way and say
take my breath away ... //

Her clothes seemed to melt away under his wandering hands. He scooped her up, placing her in the centre of the bed.

“Chris, please.”

“Relax baby. Let me take care of you.”

He placed a feathery kiss on her parted lips before continuing down her neck. Lita exhaled and nodded, moaning as he began caressing her ribs and stomach, his hands cupping her breasts. His tongue slicked over the hollow where neck met collarbone as his thumb flicked over her hardening nipple. The redhead moaned again, her hands clutching at the sheets. Chris chuckled into her skin, his mouth blazing a trail from her throat to her breasts. She arched as he enclosed a hard nipple in wet warmth, mewing faintly as sparks of pleasure shot from his tugging mouth to her groin.

His palm moved up to her other breast, kneading it as he suckled, flicking his tongue over the tip, relishing the taste of her. Chris lifted his head, pressing a hard kiss to her mouth, silencing her frustrated moan.

“Relax sweetheart.” He grinned at the expression on her face before fastening his mouth on her breasts again, molding and kneading the flesh, taking a ferocious delight in hearing her moans and whimpers of pleasure.

“Baby, Chris, please...” Her words came out in a gasp as he chose that moment to lash his tongue against her nipple. Chris smiled into her skin, his fingers skimming down the side of stomach, caressing the smooth flesh. His mouth followed his fingers, trailing behind wetly. The redhead shuddered, hips bucking when his mouth found her. A low whimper left her lips as his tongue caressed the folds, sucking on her. Her legs involuntarily rose up, heels planted firmly against the mattress, hips tilting into the gently stroking tongue. She gasped harshly as she strained to ease the pressure building inside her, mewling in disappointment when the mouth moved away...only to be replaced with a callused thumb, two fingers gliding into her wet tunnel, working in and out in a slow, tormenting rhythm.

“Come for me.” Lita started at the hot whisper, wondering when he had slithered up her body again, but then his thumb moved over her and all thought flew out of her head. “Come for me.” He repeated, capturing her lips with a deep kiss, his tongue dancing with hers.

“No...” She writhed under him, hazel eyes locked with his, voice breathless. “Want you in me... please Chris.” She arched involuntarily in tandem with the movement of his hand, moaned when he moved it away. The moan ceased when he settled over her. “Inside me, baby.”

Chris hissed in a breath at her words, only too glad to oblige. In one smooth, deep stroke, he was fully sheathed in her enveloping heat. They both groaned loudly at the friction, Lita arching herself against him in a silent plea. Chris remained still a while longer, revelling in the feel of being inside her, softly nibbling on her lips. He uttered sounds to soothe her as she writhed beneath him.

He fastened his mouth to the hollow of her throat and sucked as he slowly began to move, withdrawing and easing back in...pausing, then repeating this torturous motion again...and again...until she was crying out for him. He retained an iron control over himself, never altering his thrusts as his fingers plucked and pinched her nipples, growling as she writhed beneath him, her hips rocking up into his with an urgency that made him smile with satisfaction.

A throaty moan left her lips, her nails scoring down his back to clutch at his ass.

“Please...” The words left her mouth as a whimper and he smirked, increasing his pace as he pumped into her. He felt her body tense and reached between them to find her, groaning when she crested, her muscles clenching around him, sending him over the peak as well.

Breathing heavily, he allowed himself to rest his weight on the redhead for a second before flipping them over so she was lying on him. She rested her head on his chest, fingers idly moving over his muscles.

“Chris?” Her voice was muffled slightly, her breath tickling his bare skin.

“Yeah baby?”

“Love you.”
