It's when you plant the new rye seeds so that you can grow more crops.

Oh, so like food and stuff? But why plant in September? Won't stuff just not grow in Winter?

Ah, how do I explain this easily...
Well, the rye grows a little before the snow comes, but sort of...umm...goes to sleep during the winter. That way, it grows really fast when Spring comes.
