my grandmother gave me a dinosaur excavation kit today and I burned my finger on a fajita pan handle

Jenn and I are exchanging a high-foot over something exciting after we watched the Howl's Moving Castle dub, which is twice as beautiful on big screen and half as engaging as the sub.
Work is going well; I am returning to process more rebates next week. In addition to providing me with a paycheck, seven hours of typing are giving me a reason to listen carefully to music I downloaded at school and only listened to as background noise and the opportunity to think. A lot. While the clicking of my keys is occasionally disrupted by idiots who are asking for their late rebate to be processed because they originally mailed it to themselves instead of our company, most of the time I have nothing to entertain myself with except my own contemplations.

One of the many things I realized was that at this time in my life, being a full-fledged vegan isn't going to work out. While I had a plethora of responses to people's questions about my motivations for veganism, I couldn't find one really solid one that I felt was appropriate motivation. Eventually, I returned to the original motivation for vegetarianism-my health-and decided that if that was the main reason I was altering my behavior, then I was sorely failing. If I eat protein in a day, it's rarely more than a third of what my daily intake should be. What's wrong with that thought isn't just the "third" clause, but "if I eat protein in a day." Until I can learn to successfully balance my diet, I'm going to have to return to vegetarianism.

Lately, I've been having a very difficult time deciding where to draw the line for various things. For instance, at what point do I cease conservational actions? Sure, it's important that I recycle, don't eat meat, take the bus when I can and am trying to stop buying things that I don't need, but that isn't enough to balance out the ecological footprint I leave on the planet. I could be a vegan again or stop taking extraneous trips in airplanes to reduce my personal pollution. There are so many more drastic changes I could make that I'm not making. Why? Some people have told me that I should only do what is comfortable for me, but if we all did what was comfortable, then we'd be destroying life right and left. I am not the most important being in the world and thus should not place my own wants above The Greater GoodTM, especially since while a course of action might be inconvenient, it is still possible. With so many people who can make choices that would be beneficial rejecting even simple actions like using their own water bottle instead of constantly buying new, disposable ones, I feel like I have an even greater responsibility to do something.

I want to start taking Fridays off so I can volunteer somewhere, but I fear that if I do that, my employer will hire another temp willing to work all five days of the week and I will be jobless.
