This is another great review I just read. It's on the back of the Harper Perennial edition of One Hundred Years of Solitude, which is probably the best book I have ever read. This review sums up how I feel about the book, and since some people have asked me about this recently, I'm posting this here now.
"One Hundred Years of Solitude is the first piece of literature since the Book of Genesis that should be required reading for the entire human race. It takes up not long after Genesis left off...reporting on everything...with more lucidity, wit, wisdom, and poetry than is expected from 100 years of novelists, let alone one man...Mr. Garcia Marquez has done nothing less than to create in the reader a sense of all that is profound, meaningful, and meaningless in life."
