My Mum sent me a package! Yay! I got a blanket, and an historical atlas of Rome (which makes my geeky heart all a-tingle) and some articles from the Sub-Standard, local paper of that place I used to live. It all came in a reused Paderno box that still had the price-sticker attached, and my mother's handwriting underneath telling me (with an exclamation point) how much she'd actually spent (significantly less). Mum, why you so cute?
From one of these articles:
An old friend of mine, to whom I haven't really talked much since my family moved away from Indian Rd when I was in grade five (10 bloody years ago - now there's a kick in the pants), has reached the final stages of the CBC's
How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria? I don't know if she's gotten far enough to actually get on the show, but she is far enough along that the Sub-Standard decided to do a front-page feature on her, complete with a large picture of her with a pink acoustic guitar (My mother pointed this out rather gleefully). O.F. why you so ridiculous? Anyway I think it's really cool. Because A) someone with whom I used to play imaginary games in our backyards might be on national television. And B) someone with whom I used to play imaginary games in our backyards is going to be getting acting instructions from John Barrowman!!!!!!!!!!!
And if you look on the site she's actually in one of the behind the scenes videos! (This I think is a good sign for her chances of being on the actual show - which doesn't air until the 15th.)
Good Luck Old Friend!
