Time to Send Someone Away.... (aka Me... aka VACATION.)
Had a discussion with my mother today to begin to look at details for dates for trip this summer. Okay, she's trying to pack more into it than I had realized :/
1) Tentatively the trip will include time spent at WEG, but just for a few days. My aunt has tickets for earlier rounds but not the vaulting finals on the sunday of the week. Honestly, I'm okay with this, as long as I'm not stuck watching boring compulsories on barrel. (Though it does make me wonder what the heck Blake is doing for a horse this year, and if they're going to have to fly/go through quarrantine like they did last time, which utterly sucked) I'm happy as along as I get to see some Kurs. Besides, everyone is likely to be so good that I won't know the differences between what's very good and what's *grrreat*.
2)After WEG Mom wants to include the trip to the Czech republic (which she would prefer to do in a tour... i think this is ludicrous to fit in as a tour) so we can go to marienbad and karlsbad and prague (exscept for prague, those are the german names. most maps will have them in czech.) She's expecting to do that in about a week.
3)After that she wants to go *back* to germany (but I think to berlin this time, rather than aachen, where WEG will be) for a rubber stamp show. That's right. My mother wants to go to a STAMP show while we're in europe. I like stamps and doing my art with stamps, but jeesh. Her response to me, "well while we're there, we might as well go to the show." My response to her," yeah, and how many MILLIONS of things could I say that to in england?!" so, yeah... anyway, it appears it's still on the books. I'm sure it'll be fun, but I swear, I have no idea what my mother is planning on buying (but i seriously hope somehow that we see mary jo at the judikins booth if we do go. that'd be hilarious.)
4) england. I thought I was going to have a week and a half's time to plan... Mom has moved it down to a week. A week and a half was *tiny* as it was, and now I feel like I have NO TIME AT ALL. I know, I'm a whiny, whiny brat. Just, I'm pretty sure that she's using an arrival date in that mix, and i'm sorry, I have way too much to do to fit it all into 6 days. (I'm also a bit bummed cause I think WEG's timing is going to knock out going to the JA festival in bath :(.. and omg, time with other austen nerds would have kicked ass.) I am thinking that I will need to negotiate this with my mother... I'd much rather spend more time around england looking at stuff I've wanted to look at than time in germany inside a hotel looking at stamps she can order online.
totally off topic: ooh... the king tut traveling exhibit is going to be in chicago this summer @___@ The last weekend in july and the first weekend in august are the times for kickass music festivals in chicago. I wanna go. (I'm guessing I will be missing TMBG this week, cause of studying and class and lack of funds.) I want to do to these fests even more as a result. I also need to find people who would actually want to do all this stuff with me. Oh, wells. In the mean time... back to reading candide (and um... studying for my COMPS... which are in less than 2(!!!@____@!!!) weeks.)
