An Upside Down W

I suppose that all I can say is that there is still good in the world when an album made for children is better than a great many albums meant for grown-ups. So, for those of you that know small childen that like music: get them "They Might Be Giants' Here Come the ABCs!" I wouldn't say this if it was just a cute kids album. It's fun to listen to. I know I'm an adult fan of the band, but I have avoided the other kids recordings (Bed, bed, bed and NO! respectively) thinking, "Well, much as I love John and John --and the band of dans and marty--, I'm not too into kids' music." Well, I was wrong. While some of it is childish, it's amazingly good childish fun. Some of the things on there of course are actually over the kids heads and are better for grown ups, which makes it enjoyable (not unlike when my parents enjoyed the muppet show. there were all sorts of things I didn't catch at age 5.) It's difficult not to appreciate things like "fake believe" and the song "Go for G". Last night this band made me smile when I didn't feel like smiling, and even managed to get me to almost giggle. If that's not a musical feat to admire... I'm not sure what is.

Additionally: Am about halfway through watching season one of House, MD. I love that show more and more. However, I was a bit saddened with the extras. No commentaries. Normally I'd go "eh.. I like them ok, but I can't be bothered about them." But come on... Who doesn't want to listen to Hugh Laurie talk? I do. Most of the extras were featurettes, but they were *short* like less than 5 minutes each :P The clip of Hugh's audition was awesome tho. Oh and Robert Sean Leonard wasn't on the bonus mat stuff *at all*. :P That was teh suck. I dunno, I was just disappointed. I also think they should have put some of the bonus stuff on each disc. Other stuff I've seen had better bonus material. I just hope that maybe as the show goes on they'll do more. I'd like to hear about why they chose the set stuff they did and wardrobe decisions (for House in particular, but also for Cuddy and Wilson.)

Listened to most of Highway 61 revisted yesterday... But was barely awake when did it... so fell asleep in the middle of it. Not exactly best way to review an album I'd say. Well and it's not a good way to appreciate a rock classic. Might give it anpother shot today. I need to figure out a better way to store my cds. I know I'm between 300-400 and they're not organized well *at all*.
