Teh Evening News.
Had a nice time at Moutvics this evening. Xiao was really animated and tremendously cute. It's very sweet to hear him joke and be silly. The summer was a really good one for him speech wise. It's amazing how much he's progressed. I got to push him on the swings and he played with me. :) He was getting testy in the evening and doing the standard two-year-old "NO!" routine, but tho he didn't consent to a hug he was willing to blow me a kiss as we left. Qiu Kui gave lotsa hugs too and made me go feed the fish with her and we talked. It's hard to fathom that she'll be 8 in a month and a half. She's so strong and tall now!
Anyhow dinner otherwise was nice and lovely etc. Was a nice Labor Day evening.
Other music stuff:
cursory listen to the White Stripes "Get Behind Me Satan". Liked it okay, wasn't as thrilled with it as I was hoping. Will need to relisten tho cause I wasn't pasying as much attention as I ought to have. Some tracks I liked a great deal. Some seemed to fall utterly flat, and others seemed very close to the ones that i really liked... Close enough that I was disappointed they weren't a bit more different.
Before we left for Moutvics started listening to Weezer's "Make Believe" Got about half way with it. Paid enough attention to catch the singles, but was in the middle of pounding eyelets and so didn't really give it a fair shot. So far, it's decent. I'm guessing that my opinion will improve with more listening.
Speaking of eyelets: finished the leather cuff bracelet I'd been working on (aka fiddling with). Didn't wear it with what I had on today, but I do like it. It's colorful but has black suede so I think it's a nice mix. I'm thinking with a standard black boatneck tee it'll be fun. It's somewhere in between "back up off of be beeyotch" and "ooh, cute". So, I can dig that.
