The Orange Double

And so. it's been one of those very odd thought days. Found myself wondering as I drove about artists, of many sources, and substance use. Didn't have any major epiphanies, tho. The notion of dancing near the edge of life and death kept coming back along with a sense of piquancy on the palette. Just I can't help wondering if one cuts the strings or becomes the marionette.. and if the palette is assisted by a forked tongue. Yeah, I obviously think the weird thoughts as I drive (not that I don't keep spares for other occasions)

Finally was able to get "The Young Visiters" from the library today. Watched it this evening. I think I'd like to read it :) I'm amazed at the talent behind it. From a 9 year old! it makes me wonder about education now. We educate so many more people better these days, but have we forsaken some of that quality for quantity? I suppose not, as Daisy Ashford must have been very comfortable, and the comfortable are as well educated as they ever were. The film was great tho in the same way that lewis carroll is great. Everything is tweaked. Adored all Hugh Laurie's female family members who looked *just* like him (wonder how that happened... *wink* ) Thought Jim Broadbent was really fabulous. There were really wonderful costuming decisions that I loved about it, but I'm not going to elaborate. I'll save you all that grief. The end made me tear up, for a lot of reasons. Not going to elaborate on that either. No point in being redundant

Talked with jac for just a few minutes. She's catching a plane back to Florida. Seems like all we do these days is have short conversations between appointments, flights, or obligations. Moments trapped like water on a microscope slide. Frustrating to feel like I have to lock myself away when I talk to those close to me. Sort of makes those vocab lessons in grade school pointless.
